Honda Element Engines

The description of Honda Element engines
Engines of Honda Element K24A - four-cylinder, 16-valve engines with the top arrangement of cam shafts and liquid cooling. A working volume of Honda Element engines K24A - 2,4 l. Numbering of cylinders is conducted from a crankshaft pulley.

Cylinder block of Honda Element engines
Cast from an aluminium alloy on technology GDC*. For increase in ruggedness of the cylinder block the bottom cover of main bearers is executed integral and fastens to the block 24 bolts. Persistent half rings are established in 4 bearing part. For cooling in the cylinder block ports on which the cooling liquid circulates are made. For lubricant of a bent shaft, connecting rods, buckets and an oil supply to oil spray jets there are horizontal ports, and in a front part of the block one vertical port for an oil supply in a cylinder block head. * - Gravity Die Casting.
Bent shaft of Honda Element engines
Bent shaft steel, five-support th with 8 balance weights established on continuation of cheeks of a bent shaft. The oil supply to a bent shaft is carried out from the cylinder block. On a sock of a bent shaft of the engine the pinion gear of a drive gear of the gaz-distributive gear, a pinion gear of a drive gear of the oil pump, as resulting the block of shaft and a pulley of a drive gear of hinged units with the snubber of shifting jerkss is established.
Cylinder block head of Honda Element engines
It is executed from an aluminium alloy. The gaz-distributive gear with two cam shafts (DOHC). The drive gear is carried out by a chain from a bent shaft. In a block head the bed of cam shafts in which system VTEC rocker actuators also are established is located. The weight of valve springs, and also possibility of occurrence of resonant fluctuations are reduced at the expense of application of new materials.
System of change of phases of a gas distribution (VTC) of Honda Element engines
The system of change of phases of a gas distribution (VTC - Variable Timing Control) allows to change phases of a gas distribution depending on working conditions, for reception of the maximum filling on the set modes of behaviour, and as consequence of reception of the maximum capacity and reduction of toxicity of the fulfilled gases. System VTC changes phases of a gas distribution by means of change of position of a cam shaft of inlet valves.honda element engine The basic difference from system VTEC which also changes gas distribution phases, is that system VTC changes gas distribution phases constantly, depending on working conditions. At the big coal of a valve overlap, pumping losses decrease, fuel efficiency as a result increases. "The effect of recirculation of the fulfilled gases" (EGR effect) therefore the combustion temperature according to increase in a share of the fulfilled gases decreases also takes place, that leads to reduction of blowouts of oxides of nitrogen (NO „) and hydrocarbons (NANOSECOND). EGR effect, in this case it is possible to correlate with the term of residual gases. The given effect is reached by the organisation of turning movement of streams so that the part, the fulfilled gases arrived back in a combustion chamber. On no-load conditions the control system reduces a valve overlap, for stability of combustion and rotary speed reduction. In case of failure of system VTEC, steering of system VTC stops, and the gazo-distributive gear works under the usual classical scheme. Phases of a gas distribution of inlet valves are regulated under the program which has been put in pawn in a control package. Resetting is carried out by means of a clutch of system of change of phases of a gas distribution (VTC), established on a cam shaft of inlet valves and an electropneumatic valve of system of change of phases of gaz-distributive-division (VTC). Depending on necessity of increase or reduction of time of opening of inlet valves the electropneumatic valve submits oil under pressure to a bore for steering of an advancing or in a bore for steering of delay in a clutch (drawing "system VTC Work"). The clutch operates on a cam shaft of outlet valves therefore inlet the valve open either earlier, or later.
System of change of phases of a gas distribution and height of lifting of valves (VTEC) of Honda Element engines
System VTEC established on the given car allows to change a corner of a valve overlap and height of lifting of valves, depending on turns of a bent shaft and loading to the engine therefore fuel efficiency indicators on all power setting improve, high-speed modes and loading as the maximum capacity on high turns is reached.
